With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Wallace Shackelford of Washington, North Carolina, born in Dover, North Carolina, who passed away on March 26, 2021 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Edward Shackelford; her parents, Fred Whitaker Wallace and Mary Powell Wallace; and her brother Neal Wallace. She is survived by: her children, Laurel Shackelford Shepherd of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Diana Wallace Shackelford of Holly Springs, N. C., Maria Shackelford Holjes (Meldon) of Newport News, VA. and Lydia Shackelford Stewart (Gene) of Fayetteville, N. C.; her grandchildren, Maria Elizabeth Millwee (Joel) of Aptos, CA, Sarah Young Perkins (Jason) of Cary, N. C., Anna Katherine Garzon of Virginia Beach, VA., Nathaniel Wallace Holjes (Deborah) of Manassas, VA and Lydia Alexandra Stewart-Artz (David); and her great grandchildren, Luke Joel, Reese Elizabeth Millwee and Claire Marion Perkins. She is also survived by love of her life were her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
