He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Wiggs Walston and Paul Davis Walston; his wife Annie Walston; his stepdaughter Kathy Willis; and his sisters, Janie Radford and Linda Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Walston (Melonie) of Washington, NC, Sharon Robbins (Robbie) of Rock Hill, SC and Janet Webster (Sam) of Grifton, NC; his stepchildren, Jerry Willis of Hubert, NC, Brenda Zuccaro of Lynchburg, TN and Sandy Gurganus of Jacksonville, NC.; his grandchildren, Nick Robbins (Brandi) of Gibsonville, NC, Brittany Owens (Barry) of Seneca, SC, Ryan Walston (Rhesa) of Chocowinity, NC, Renay Williams (Macon) of Washington, NC, Samantha Webster-Vaughn (Ryan) of Ellenboro, NC, Andrea Gregory (Brandon) of Grifton, NC and Holly Webster of Nevada, TX.; his stepgrandchildren, Erica, Zachary, Stephen, Dylan and Cheyenne; and his sister Judy Williams of Winterville, NC.
