We are sad to announce that on May 13, 2021, at the age of 84, Joseph V. Gurganus Jr. of Washington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Vernon" Gurganus, Sr. and Doris Wynne Gurganus; and his close friend Frederic Gurganus. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Joan Schochet Gurganus; his sons, Martin Douglas Gurganus, Sr. (Carla Michelle Gurganus) of Maryland and Jeffrey Neil Gurganus (Julia Smith Gurganus) of Maryland; and his grandchildren, Martin Douglas Gurganus, Jr., Daniel Paul Gurganus (Sarah Jones), Michael Joseph Gurganus (Elena Dibble), Natalie Erin Gurganus and Megan Wynne Gurganus.
