He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Charlie "Bill" Chewning and Frances Cleo Adams Chewning. He is survived by : his sons, Jim (Anh Chewning), Scott (Christie Chewning) and Mark (Mollie Chewning); his grandchildren, Luke Chewning of Matthews, Wyatt Chewning of Matthews, Peyton Anna Chewning of Jameson and Chloe Chewning of Waxhaw; and his brother Charlie "Billy" Chewning of Raleigh.
