With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Elizabeth Martin Porter of Weaverville, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Mary Elizabeth Martin left this world on July 16, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferdinand Martin and Mary Holder Martin; her husband Don Porter; and her son Mark. She is survived by: her siblings, George, Albert and Nellie; her aunt Vashti; her son Bill (Anya Breitenbach); her daughter-in-law Julie Downing Porter; her grandchildren, Stephanie Porter, Anna Porter Crowell (Andrew) and Ryan Porter; and her great grandchildren, Aubrey and Logan Crowell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church (63 N Main St, Weaverville, NC 28787). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
While flowers are welcome, friends are encouraged to donate to a memory care charity of their choice or Meals on Wheels.
