He was predeceased by : his parents, John Miller Andrews and Pauline Patteson Andrews; and his former life partner Nancy Andrews. He is survived by : his wife Julia Andrews; his sons, Charles Andrews and John Andrews (Ester); his stepson Burke Kirkland (Tammy); his grandchildren, Beth Kirkland, Michael "Mak" Kirkland and Levi Kirkland; his great grandchildren, Sarah Beth Deal, Caedmon Kirkland and Aiden Kirkland; and his brothers, John "Hamilton" Andrews (Sandy) and William Price Andrews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
