She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Walter Hampton Blackard, Sr.; her son Hampton Blackard (Mary) of Wendell; her granddaughters, Amy Weir (Scott) of Apex and Christy Shearin (Rodney) of Louisburg; her son Steve Blackard (Jane) of Wendell; her granddaughter Stephanie Lindsey (Michael) of Wendell; her son Ruffin Blackard (Annie) of Hixson, TN; her grandchildren, Laura Santiago (Carlos) of Wendell and Sam Blackard of Hixson, TN; her son Thomas Blackard; her sisters, Mary Jo Mills (James) of Sanford and Sally Buchanan Ken Karn; her nephews, John and Joe D Mills; and her pet Ester. She was also cherished by eight step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren.
