She was predeceased by: her husband O. G. Spell, Jr.; her son John Harvey Spell; and her siblings, Margaret of Doris, Anne, Hinton, Charles and Ralph.
She is survived by: her children, Oscar Glenn Spell, III (Gale) of Chapel Hill and Laura Spell Watkins of Wendell; her grandchildren, Rachel Spell Bingham, Oscar Glenn Spell, IV and John Wesley Watkins; and her great grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Bingham.
