With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Matthews Scott in Wentworth, North Carolina, born in Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by : her father Grady Matthews; her husband Richard Scott; her grandsons, Mike Scott and Tyler Scott; and her brother Charles Pulliam (George Matthews).

She is survived by : her son Jim Scott (Rachel); her great grandchildren, Jake Scott, Kamryn Scott, Aubree Scott and Vaden Scott; her granddaughters-in-law, Nicole Bennett Scott and Amber Parrish Scott; and her sister Ann Matthews Cook.
