It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Bard of West Jefferson, North Carolina, who passed away on February 20, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bynum Jones and Rachel Pennington Jones; her husband Blair K. Bard; her siblings, Wayne Jones, Ruth Rosenbaum, Howard Jones, Jack Jones and Donna Justice; and her son-in-law William O. Hollingsworth, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Susan Hollingsworth of Statesville, Cathy Lasater of Brevard, Gina Gentry of Kernersville and Arlen Bard of West Jefferson; her grandchildren, Christopher Hollingsworth, Alexander Hollingsworth, Stuart Lasater, Suzanne Lasater Clyburn, Dusty Bard, Amber Bard Coleman, Shade Gentry and Tess Gentry; her sisters, Joanna Wolf of Meadowview, VA, Mary Wright of Meadowview, VA and Gaynelle Davis of Marion, VA; her siblings-in-law, Mary Jones of Fairfax, VA and Bobby Justice of Spruce Pine, NC; and her friends, Judy Jenkins, Cathy Clark and Angie Wingler. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great step-grandchildren.
Due to COVID a private service will be held at 1:30 on Wednesday, February 24th at Boone Family Funeral Home in West Jefferson.
