He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Ricks and Gertrude Arrington Ricks. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Elizabeth Battle Ricks; his daughter Marsha Ricks Thompson; his siblings, Jerome Ricks (Wylene) of Whitakers, James Ricks (Crystal) of Whitakers, Eloise Umstead of Nashville and Janice Ricks of Whitaker; and his granddaughter Alisha Thompson.
