He is survived by: his children, James R. Whitaker, Jonas Lynch (Diane), John Luther Hinton, Jacqueline H. King (Gregory), JoAnne H. Perkins (Anthony), Sharon H. Johnson (Thomas) and Shereka Allen; his stepchildren, Yolanda Barnes and Joseph Barnes Jr.; and his sister Mary L. McGriff.

We will follow the COVID -19 guidelines in distancing and masks will be required to be worn for both services.
