With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Hinson Fluharty of Whiteville, North Carolina, born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on June 20, 2023 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Daniel Otto Hinson and Flossie Hinson; and her husband Harry Lee Fluharty. She is survived by : her children, Sharon Hoover of Chadbourn, NC, Leslie Fluharty (Melanie) of Arapahoe, NC and Michael Fluharty (Denise) of Mt. Olive, NC.; her grandchildren, Lee Fluharty (Gina), Laura Fluharty, Joey Hoover (Tracy), Christy Hoover, Tommy Fluharty (Leighan), Michael Paul Fluharty, Hannah Hinson (Lee) and Martha Stone (Ryan); her great grandchildren, Dillon Fluharty, Maddie Fluharty, Bradley Hoover, Cynthia Anderson (Lars), Andrew Hoover, Tripp Hinson, Michael Ryan Stone, Kaden Stone, Chase Fluharty and Kara Fluharty; her great great grandchildren, Abbye, Elania, Dalton and Ethan; and her sister Phyllis Cooper (Bill).
