He is survived by: his wife Shirley Royal Johnson; his daughter Becky Johnson (Danny) of Wilkesboro; his granddaughters, Natalie Forbes (William) of Charlotte and Haley Johnson of Wilkesboro; and his sister Brenda Varnum of Myrtle Beach.
