She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey McConnell and Ella Harvey Mize; her husband Colonel Dwight Blackburn; and her siblings, Jerry Mize, Betty Mize James, Maureen Mize Fuller and Anne Mize.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Wayne Blackburn (Anita) of Senatobia, Betty Blackburn Williams (Jim) of Zebulon, William "Bill" Blackburn (Cindy) of Wilkesboro, Lyn Blackburn Myers (Danny) of Yadkinville and Jerry "Mike" Durham; her grandchildren, Charles Dwight "Charlie" Byrd, Rende Durham, Brandy Jones (Daniel), Shane Blackburn (Ruth), Cassidy Blackburn and Savannah Myers; and her brothers, Paul Mize, Sr. and Melvin Mize. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
