He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake R. Hamby and Annie Ruth Minton Hamby; and his brother Jake Hamby, Jr.. He is survived by: his grandson Matthew Brian Curry; his great grandchild Lucas Brian Curry of Millers Creek; his granddaughter Jade Nichole Brown of Lansing; and his sisters, Linda Cook of Wilkesboro and Inez Hincher of Wilkesboro. He is also survived by three nieces and five nephews.
