He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Willie Vaughn Gainey; his wife Rebekah Adams; his children, Carli Adams (Bryan Hoofnagle) of Asheville and Daniel Adams (Alisha) of Washington, DC; his granddaughter Drew Hoofnagle; his siblings, Wayne Adams (Pam) of Chesterfield, SC and Melissa Vick (Ted) of Pawleys Island, SC; and his siblings-in-law, Trish Yale (Rick) of Wilkesboro, Johnny "J. R." and William Reese of Beaver Dam.
