He was predeceased by: his parents, William Riley and Clora Love Johnson; and his sister Doris Smithey. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Bumgarner Johnson; his children, Jeanette McNeil (Jack) of Wilkesboro, Christine Brown (Daron) of Millers Creek and Brian Johnson (Kelly) of Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Nicholas McNeil, Lindsay McNeil, Phoebe Reed (Blake), Denver Brown and Jordan Johnson; and his siblings, Mazie Johnson of North Wilkesboro and Tony Johnson (Fran) of Asheville.
