He was predeceased by : his parents, Elton Barnes and Ernestine Barnes of Angier; and his siblings, Beverly Bowden of Angier and Phillip Barnes of Timberlake. He is survived by : his wife Julia Matthews Barnes; his daughters, Paula Barnes Cardinale, Jennifer Mabry (Jeff), Angela Rousseau, Carmen Hills and Kristen Singles (Howard); his sister Daphne Bullock; and his grandchildren, Brooke Mabry, Danielle St. John, Christopher Rousseau, Michael Rousseau, Gregg Rousseau, Matthew Rousseau, Elizabeth Burley, Mason Hills and Julia Singles. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
