He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Creech Pope; his parents, Russell Pope and Hester Pope; and his siblings, Mary Lou Hughes and Leon Morris Pope, Sr..

He is survived by: his children, Kathy Pope Jones (Danny), Kenneth Garfield Pope, Jr. (Grace) and John Pope, Sr.; and his sisters, Patsy Jackson, Kay Raburn, Mollie Sumner (Donnie), Gloria Bowen and Lavon Beavers (Richard). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
