He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Garland Dorsey and Harland Johnson Dorsey; his wives, Mintie Covington Dorsey and Hilah White Dorsey; his stepson Allen Armstrong; and his friend Francis Parker.
He is survived by: his children, Martha Louise (Dale) of Brigham City, UT, Edward Garland III (Betty) of St. George, UT, Lee Davis (John) of Raleigh, NC and Carla Dennis (Richard) of Raleigh, NC.. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Grandchild.
He attended classes at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNC Wilmington until he was 96 when the pandemic shut down the classes.
