She is survived by : her husband James "Mac" Walter McWaters; her daughters, Kim McWaters Wilson (Sandy) of Wilmington and Susan McWaters of Denver, CO; her granddaughter Rachel Verdi (Tim); and her great grandchild Mason Verdi. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Masonboro Baptist Church (1501 Beasley Rd, Wilmington, NC 28409). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
