She was predeceased by: her mother Minnie Hooks; and her sister Sharon Singletary. She is survived by: her husband Arthur Anderson of Wilson, NC; her sons, James D. Hooks (Kimberley) and Arthur L. Anderson; and her siblings, Khaliah Shabazz (Abdul), Evonne Hooks, Willie Moss Baltimore, MD (Rhonda), Raymond Ellis (Mary) and Larry Ellis (Mae). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
