He was predeceased by: his parents, Zura Thorne and Tommy Thorne; and his siblings, Dorothy Mihelarakis, Archie, Ted, Millard, Willard and Leonard Thorne.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Tedder (Thomas) of Sims, Linda Driver (Randall) of Kenly, Charles Thorne (Judy) of Wilson, Donald Thorne (Linda) of Wilson, Tony Thorne of Wilson and Tommy Thorne (Kathy) of Lucama; and his close friend Jean Hamm of Kenly. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested Lamms Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, PO Box 220, Lucama, NC 27851.
