He was predeceased by: his parents, Betsy Pope Pittman and Micaga Clarence Pittman; his daughter Betsy Mercer; and his grandchild Cameron Ellis. He is survived by: his children, Malissa Swain (Leon) and Tommy Pittman (Ellen); and his grandchildren, Jonathan Ellis, Emily Pittman, Ryan Mercer and Daniel Mercer.
