He is survived by: his son-in-law Rev. Brian Hemphill; his wife Sue Hall Howell; his children, Donna Howell Seaford (Mark) of Salisbury, Heather Howell Hemphill (Brian) of Oak Island and Brandon Howell (Anna) of Woodbridge, Virginia; his grandchildren, Annah Seaford, Ellah Seaford, Caleb Hemphill (Briana), Hunter Hemphill, Paxton Hemphill and Landon Howell; his brother Dwight Thomas Howell (Maria) of Calabash; and his pet Rosie.
