He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Wall Gardner; his parents, Charlie Gardner and Nona Stott Gardner; and his siblings, Helen G. Hubbard, Marjorie G. Mooring, Edgar Gardner, Marvin Gardner, Charles Gardner, Jimmy Gardner and Earl Gardner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vickie McArthur (Doug), Joy Batchelor (Roger) and Cindy Webb (Tracy); and his grandchildren, Andrea Ritchie, Ashley Pinzel (Shawn), Jennifer Moore (Brad), Leigh Ann Pollock (Brian), Joshua Denton (Whittney) and Dale Batchelor (Debra). He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
