It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harvey Ruffin of Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away on December 27, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey B. Ruffin and Lula Hackney Ruffin; his former wife Anne Harrison Ruffin; his sisters, Lula Thigpen, Jane Allen and Mary Harvey Witherington; and his stepson Christopher Gauss.
He is survived by: his brothers, Body Co, Wilmed Foundation and Wilson Chamber of Commerce; his wife Anna Jane Owens Ruffin; his children, Mary Anne Ruffin of Raleigh, Jane Hackney Odum (Padgett) of Jesup, GA and Harvey B. Ruffin III of Boone; and his stepsons, Tav Gauss (Kim) and Harry Gauss (Liza) of Wilson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
