He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Edwards Winstead; his parents, James A. Winstead and Carrie Lee Farmer Winstead; and his sisters, Mamie McKenzie, Rachel Perry and Janice Lewis.
He is survived by: his siblings, Doris Hall of Snow Hill, NC, Annie Morris Woodard of Rocky Mount, NC, Margaret Ruth King of Rocky Mount, NC, Arlene Adams of Wilson, NC and Richard Winstead of Wilson, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
