With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Alvin Stancil Jr. of Wilson, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Stancil and Peggy Stancil; his siblings, Joan Thompson, Danny Stancil and Steve Stancil; and his nephew Alvin Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Perry Stancil; his daughters, Tish Stancil Summerlin (Steve) of Wilson, Kelly Stancil Barnes (Billy), Creek and Lee Anne Edwards (Justin) of Zebulon; his grandchildren, Brooke Meador, Sage Meador, Stephen Abrams, Kaitlin Abrams Baker (Alex), Christopher Abrams, Khloe Barnes and Luke Edwards; his sister Marian Stancil Lamm of Wilson; and his nephews, Marshall Bass, George Thompson and Ashley Stancil.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM. A memorial service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Joyner's Funeral Home (4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896).
