He is survived by: his wife Shirley Schopf Batten; his sons, Michael Batten (Lisa) of Temperance Hall, Andy Batten (Heidi) of Virginia Beach, VA, Bill Batten (Cookie) of Suffolk, VA and Douglas Batten (Lois) of Chatham, VA; and his brothers, Tommy Batten of Chesapeake, VA. and Gene Batten of Chesapeake, VA.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
