He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Vina Mae Casey James; and his siblings, Hazel Manning, Donald James, Leonard James and J. C. Lilly.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Poythress James; his daughters, Robin James Cuddington (Tommy) and Sandy James Hawley (Dennis); his stepson Eric Brian Radke; his grandchildren, Kelley Starr (Kasey), Shannon Suddreth (Zack), Tyler Hawley (Liz), Brian Radke (Summer) and Brittany Hawley; his great grandchildren, Nathan Meyers, Grethen Starr and Charlotte Suddreth; and his nephew Jesse R. James (Cindy). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
