He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Gray Phillips and Mable Skinner Phillips; his wife Frances Speight Phillips; and his daughter Gwen Ballance. He is survived by: his children, Carol Currence (Jim Scott) of Charlotte, Gail Scott of Charlotte, Greg Phillips (Carolyn) of Marvin and Charles Phillips (Cathy) of Indian Trail; and his sisters, Faye Thomas of Shalimar, FL and Doris Barnes of Wilson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
