He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Kirby and Margaret Hall Kirby; his wife Anna Williams Kirby; his son Richard Pate; and his siblings, Arnold Kirby, Kenneth Carter, Wayne Carter and Becky Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Alton Kirby, Jr. (Michelle), Michelle Kirby (Runt), Lisa Wells (Lynn) and Kim Best (Wayne); his grandchildren, Nicholas Marshall, Jordan Kirby, Jessica Galyen (Mark), John Pate (Caitlin), Dustin Pate (Rebecca), April Cascell (Donald), Brandon Wells (Heather) and Jessica Jonas (Corey); and his siblings, Irene Hooks, Charles Kirby, Rachel Langley, Steve Kirby, Diane Baker, Brenda Carter and Jean Watson. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family respectfully request for those attending the services to wear a face covering and practice social distancing guidelines.
