She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Vernelson and Sally Harrell Vernelson; and her brothers, Hugh Vernelson, Dan Vernelson and Doug Vernelson.
She is survived by: her great grandchild Acen Lee Grace; her children, Vanessa (Mark Beamer) of Pinetown and Derek Lee Sylvester (Trista) of Dunnellon, Florida; her grandchildren, Hannah Beamer Grace (Cameron), Joshua Mark Beamer, Cody Sylvester, Emma Sylvester, Malayna Sylvester and Kyle Stewart; and her siblings, Sonja Wagoner (Roy) of Jacksonville, Florida, Ronald Vernelson (Brenda) of Kissimmee and Rev. Eric Vernelson (Elizabeth) of Wilson. She is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews.
