He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Pearson Batts; his daughter Angie Batts; his parents, Charlie Batts and Shellie Messer Batts; and his brothers, Howard and Earl Batts.
He is survived by: his son Michael Batts of Wilson; his granddaughter Tiffany Fuller (Beecher) of Scotia; his great grandchildren, Brady and Christopher Fuller; and his siblings, Corine Brantley of Williamsburg, VA, Irene Measley (Gerald) of Wilson and James Batts (Shirley) of Sims.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Chapel FWB Church, 10748, Bissette Rd, Middlesex, NC 27557.
