It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Ethelyn Winstead Joyner (Wilson, North Carolina), who passed away on July 14, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Phoebe Langley Winstead and John Napoleon Winstead; and her siblings, Earl Winstead, Vernon Winstead, David Winstead, Billy Winstead, Ruth Winstead Joyner, Georgia Winstead Hutchins and Alice Winstead Britt.
She is survived by: her children, Phoebe Joyner Hayes (Tommy), Melvin Joyner (Susie) and Lou Anne Joyner Taber (Don); her grandchildren, Liza Woods, Bailee Hayes, Becky Joyner Mullis (Ben), Melissa Joyner Newton (Brad), Ches Joyner (Anne), Christy McGovern (Jay) and Emily Lucas (Adam); her great grandchildren, Benjamin, David Mullis, Brady and Brody Newton; her sister Rebecca Winstead Hockett; and her spouse Odis Joyner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
