He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion J. Boykin Sr. and Mary Lee Williamson Boykin. He is survived by: his wife Tillie Gay Boykin; his children, Marion J. Boykin III (Vanessa) of Tarboro and Kim Boykin Tutor (Shawn) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Matthew Boykin (Allie), Brittany Edwards and Braxton Tutor; his great grandchild Walker Boykin; and his siblings, Kanie Boykin (Jean) of Durham, Polly Yelverton (Albert) of Wilson and Mary Jo Stancil (Edward) of Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
