He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. R. W. and Kathleen Beamon Kearney; and his siblings, Wayne Jett, Donnie Ray Kearney and Jayne Elizabeth Kearney.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ernestine Hardee of Goldsboro, Joe Jett (Della) of Lucama, Patty Mercer of Wilson and Keith Jett (Jennifer) of Lucama; his nieces and nephews, Macon Cockrell of Elm City, Anthony Mercer of Wilson and Nikki Jett Baker of Nashville; and his pets, Chuey, Lexie and Tux.
