“Vanessa touched many lives, to include mine. She believed in my ability to help children while we both worked at Sallie B. Howard. We helped each other, as she did so many times for others. I remember vividly her texting me asking me "where you at?". "Well, meet me around the corner". This was where we would meet and I would listen to her talk and smoke her cigarettes during her lunch break. She was a great listener and a great support and friend to many. I am so saddened.
