He is survived by: his wife Ellen Hunter Hagwood; his children, Anna Hagwood of Conover, Lillian Bell (Monzell) of Goldsboro, Lorie Merschat (Kurt) of Louisburg, Howard Hagwood, Jr. (Crystal) of Clayton, Connie Hagwood and Tillie Hagwood; and his grandchildren, Ashton Bell, Braydon Bell, Heather Smith, Tyler Hagwood, Mathew Clifton and Jessica Earp. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
