He was predeceased by: his son Hoke Smith Roberson, Jr.. He is survived by: his parents, Joseph Lawrence and Callie Brown Roberson; his wife Eleanor Shelton Roberson; his children, Joseph Shelton Roberson (Kay) of Windsor and Deborah Roberson Christopher (Bobby) of Beaufort, NC.; and his grandchild Hoke Smith Roberson, III.
He was her primary caregiver as she battled Alzheimer's disease until her death in 2002.
