He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin, Sr. and Margaret C. Humphrey; his wife Pearlie Mae; his children, Marcus and Marlene; and his siblings, Gordon, Lewis, Ernestine, Elbert and Johnny.
He is survived by: his children, Bennie Byron, Sr. and Broderick G. Sr.; his daughters-in-law, Betty, Mary and Marie; his grandchildren, Bennie Byron, Jr. (Vernette), Kesia, Jessica, Eli (Jamie), Joshua, Isaac, Broderick, II (Delzeta), Karin (Jamal) and Andrè (Kaori); and his sisters, Irene, Betty and Darlene. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. James AME Church (1501 N Patterson Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27105). A masonic service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
