He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Marion Melvin, Sr. and Alice Wayne Johnson Melvin; and his sisters, Linda Compian, Sue Goff and Patty Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Cavender Melvin; his daughters, Kristy LuAnn Sheppard (Richard) and Teresa Michelle Hall (Wayne); and his sisters, Pauline Miller, Barbara Brewer and Donna Hepler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
