She is survived by: her spouses, Nonnie Susan Morris Spencer and James Richard Hix, III; her daughters, Mel Shinaman (Brad) of Moravian Falls, Jenny Hix of Wilkesboro and Kathryn Hix-Boyette (Tom) of Winston Salem; her grandchildren, Daniel Shinaman, Jay Shinaman and Stephanie Shinaman; and her siblings, Marie Reddeck of Trinity, NC and Donald Spencer of Raleigh.
