He is survived by: his daughter Donna Kaye Miller Raper (Thomas "Jim" James); his grandson Ezra Fitzgerald Chris Raper; and his siblings, Peggy Wood, Susan Darsey and Larry Miller. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ridout's Trussville Chapel (1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). Viewing was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vogler's Funeral Home and Cremations (3815 Yadkinville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106).
