He was predeceased by: his parents, Panagiotis Stravomitis and Maria Stravomitis of Greece; and his siblings, Ilias, Chris, George and Christina Tsiakos (Vaios).
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ballas Strates; his children, Maria (Apostolos Tsigas) of Clemmons and Peter J. (Spyridoula Strates) of Winston Salem; his grandchildren, Christos, Amalia Tsigas, Elisa and Zoe Strates of Winston Salem; his brothers, Gus Strates (Vasiliki) and Paul Strates (Despina); and his siblings-in-law, Eleni Strates of Winston Salem, Gregory Ballas (Maria) and John Ballas (Penny) of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
