He is survived by: his wife Mary Virginia Morse; and his children, Mary Catherine (KC Kaltenborn), Robert, Laura (Carl Yontz), Teresa (Michael Borgerding), Alan (Margaret), Paul, Carl (Paulette Wilder), Thomas (Susan), Edward (Linda) and William G. Smith. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School.
