She was predeceased by: her parents, Early Childress and Cleo Childress; and her husband Michael Swaim Sr.. She is survived by: her sister Dorothy Sumner of Virginia; her daughters, Angela "Angie" McGee, Christina "Chrissy" Kennedy (Nicholas) of Winston Salem, NC, Candy Martin (James) of Lexington, NC and Tammy Jollay (Tom) of Lexington, NC; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey Jefferson (Alex), Payton Martin, Skye Smith, Harker Jollay and Rachel Jollay.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Silas Creek Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
