It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Sexton of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on March 22, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel Hancock and Ethel Hancock; her former husband William L. Thornton Jr.; her husband Clemie Nelson Sexton; and her daughter Virginia Lea Sexton Howell.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Allen (Richard), William "Bill" Thornton (Diane), Robert Sexton (Donna), James Sexton and Timothy Sexton (Kimberly); and her grandchildren, Virginia Furlow (Charles), Amanda Glowacki (John), Jessica Chamblee (Alvin), Stephanie Stroupe (Chris), Melissa Ashworth (Alan), Alex Sexton and Jeffrey Sexton. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
